Stewardship Campaign
The Society is supported through the generous gifts of its members and friends. Each year we conduct an annual stewardship campaign. The campaign is an opportunity for you to commit or re-commit to supporting the Society with a pledge of financial support.
In 2009 we moved to a Fair-Share giving model of stewardship. Fair-Share giving, as recommended by the UUA, takes into account an individual's income level, as well as the depth of their relationship with the congregation.
You determine your Fair-Share by identifying the nature of your relationship with the UUSC and your gross annual income, adjusted for large expenses, such as tuition. Each Fair-Share giving level is described below.
The UUA defines Fair-Share giving as proportional rather than equal giving, recognizing that equal is not always fair. By focusing on getting as many members as possible to become Fair-Share givers, the Society should be able to meet or exceed its financial needs for the upcoming year. Even if you are unable to become a Fair-Share giver at this time, it is our hope that you will commit to become one in the future.
Fair-Share Giving Goals
Supporter
The congregation is a significant part of your life and it promotes your spiritual growth. Your Fair-Share financial commitment is 3% of your income. For example, if you make $50,000 a year you commit to give the Society $125 per month or $1,500 per year.
Sustainer
The congregation is central to your identity, and you are committed to sustaining the programs and ministries of the Society. Your Fair-Share financial commitment is 4% of your income. For example, if you make $50,000 a year you commit to give the Society $167 per month or $2,000 per year.
Visionary
You are committed to the present and future growth of the congregation. Your Fair-Share financial commitment is 5% of your income. For example, if you make $50,000 a year you commit to give the Society $208 per month or $2,500 per year.
Full Tither
You designate 10% of your annual income as a way of living out your spiritual practices.
