Events for Newcomers
The Society holds a newcomer orientation on the second Sunday of even numbered months. Newcomer orientations are opportunity for those new to the congregation to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and what it means to be a member of a Unitarian Universalist community. Orientations usually last from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and include lunch. They are open to everyone but if you would like to attend and wish to RSVP in advance please contact our Membership Coordinator Kelsey Flescher at fischer.kelsey@gmail.com.
We encourage newcomers to attend any of the Society's events. A few of particular interest are:
First Sunday Lunches take place after the service on the first Sunday of the month. The lunch is a potluck but newcomers are invited to eat for free as our guest. The lunches are an excellent opportunity to meet members of the congregation and get a feel for our community.
Circle Suppers are dinners held in the homes of members of the congregation. They are a great way to get to know people in a more intimate setting. If you are interested in attending a circle supper contact Mary Schatzman at maryschatzman@sbcglobal.net.
Nature Walks usually take place the fourth Sunday of the month after the service. During the walk people explore either nearby parks and neighborhoods after a quick lunch at one of the restaurants in Coventry or travel together to one of the region's many green spaces for a longer hike. For more information contact Peter Dillard at peterdil@ameritech.net.
In addition our minister, the Rev. Colin Bossen, is always available to answer any of your questions about the congregation or Unitarian Universalism. Feel free to contact him in advance of your visit.
