Picture of BuildingWe are located at 2728 Lancashire Rd. near the intersection of Coventry Rd. and Euclid Heights Blvd. in Cleveland Heights. If you are driving you can find parking on the East and West side of the building as well as on the street and in the public parking lots on Coventry. What Do I Do with My Children?

Children are encouraged to attend our religious education program which meets Sundays during the service, except when we have an intergenerational service scheduled. On those days everyone from four years old and above comes to the service.

Most Sundays children and youth participate in the first fifteen minutes of the service and then leave for their religious education classes. On your first Sunday a greeter will try to direct to our Director of Religious Education so that you can learn a little about our program. Some families prefer to keep their child or children with them on their first visit. If so, you are welcome to keep your family together.

Is the Building Handicap Accessible?

The entrance to the building is slightly above street level but it is possible to enter from the parking lot without going up steps. Our worship services take place in our second floor sanctuary and there is a chair lift to make them more accessible. Hearing assist devices are available upon request. We also have large-print and braille hymnals. Ask a greeter for assistance.

What Can I Except From a Worship Service?

Picture of Worship ServiceAs Unitarian Universalists we understand that our religious beliefs are formed by our personal experience of the world around us. Our services strive to reflect this and draw upon a wide variety of sources for inspiration. We use both ancient and modern texts, including sacred scripture from the world's religions, and often reference poetry, fiction or other literature in our worship. We encourage you to attend more than one service since they vary in content and style.

Our services strive to be welcoming and inclusive of everyone. Most Sundays you will find people dressed casually in jeans and t-shirts alongside those in dresses or dress shirts and slacks.

For more information about our services please visit the Worship page.

How Can I Learn More About the Society?

Please visit the Welcome Table outside of the sanctuary. There, immediately before and after the service, you will find someone who can answer your questions about the congregation and Unitarian Universalism. The Welcome Table also feature a variety of pamphlets about Unitarian Universalism and copies of our newsletter. At the Welcome Table you will also fill out a guest registry and make a name tag. The guest registry will allow you to receive a six-month trial subscription to our newsletter so you can learn more about what's happening at the Society.

We also offer Newcomer Orientations on the second Sunday of even numbered months. Orientations are an opportunity for newcomers to learn more about the Society and what it means to be a member of a Unitarian Universalist community. For more information please contact our Membership Coordinator Kelsey Flescher at fischer.kelsey@gmail.com.

What Activities Are Available to Participate In?

We offer a wide variety of activities for members, friends and newcomers alike. Our religious education program includes classes for adults and youth. Our covenant group program features small groups that meet regularly for spiritual practice, conversation and fellowship around specific themes. We also have more social programs like our circle suppers and First Sunday lunches. The Society provides members with social service opportunities as well. We work closely with the refugee resettlement organization US Together to resettle refugees to the Cleveland area and try to offer social service opportunities for the whole congregation at least quarterly.
